Locally Inspired Acrylic, Oil and Mixed Media Paintings
Biography: During the 40+ years Ginger Anderson lived in the Virgin Islands she took many classes from local artists to improve and diversify her skills. She loved painting plein air with the Palletteers of St. Croix and was one of the founders of the Artists Guild of St. Croix. After moving to Pittsboro, she became an active member of the Artist Studios at Fearrington Village. Her paintings have appeared in magazines, calendars and books; and have been exhibited in many art shows. Ginger has designed an art curriculum, directed art groups, organized numerous exhibits and shows, and donated her art to non-profits.
Artist Statement: When creating my art, I lose my sense of time and place and feel an inner peace that’s almost therapeutic. Though my art journey has been indirect, art has always been a constant in my life. I view myself as a continual “work in progress” and my art helps me explore what I can be. Whether painting with acrylics, oils, or mixed media, the process is always an “artventure” as I try to express the world around me on canvas. I love having one of my paintings evoke a memory or put a smile on a viewer's face. |
